Resumen
This study aimed to analyze the cultural and tourism value of Chicha de Jora as an emblematic Peruvian product, identifying the traditional elements that have allowed its consolidation as a gastronomic attraction within rural tourism. A qualitative methodology with a descriptive design was applied, using semi-structured interviews and participant observation as techniques. The population consisted of producers, tour guides, and tourists linked to gastronomic circuits, and the sample comprised 10 participants selected through purposive sampling (5 producers, 2 guides, and 3 tourists). The results showed that Chicha de Jora represents a living symbol of Andean heritage and a key element in shaping identity, social cohesion, and economic sustainability in rural communities. Furthermore, its growing integration into cultural and gastronomic tourism routes was evident, where it strengthens the authenticity and appeal of the destination. The overall conclusion establishes that Chicha de Jora constitutes a vehicle for cultural identity and sustainable development, and its valorization within rural tourism contributes to strengthening the local economy and preserving ancestral practices. © Licencia de Creative Commons Atribución 4.0 Internacional (CC BY 4.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.es
