Resumen
Peru is considered one of the countries with the highest number of microenterprises. This study aims to determine how the perception of the entrepreneurial ecosystem affects the entrepreneurial intention of business students in the case study of a private university in the city of Ica. A quantitative approach with structural equation modelling was used, surveying 322 university students. The results reveal that training and research (p=0.037), counselling (p<0.001) and information dissemination (p=0.003) are factors that influence the entrepreneurial spirit of the students, as the figures reveal. Attitude towards entrepreneurial behaviour (p<0.001), subjective norms (p<0.001) and perceived behavioural control (p=0.006) are also found to be direct determinants of entrepreneurial intention. These findings highlight the need to strengthen entrepreneurial education programmes, mentoring and spaces for interaction with entrepreneurs, develop entrepreneurial skills and soft skills to strengthen confidence in young entrepreneurs.
