Resumen
La Abeja Republicana (1822-1823), published during the Peruvian War of Independence, was the most important publication of its time and formed part of the rebirth of the press published and distributed in Lima during the Protectorate of General José de San Martín. In this regard, this study analyzes La Abeja and its political discourse based on three key themes: a) the critical discourse against the Protectorate and Spanish rule; b) the political context of the war; and c) the political concepts disseminated in its pages. Thus, a political discourse of independence, republican, and liberal ideals is evident on the threshold of the nascent nation-state.
