Resumen
This paper, approached from a qualitative perspective and with the support of documentary exploration, aimed to analyze gender violence within the conjugal sphere, offering a critical and interdisciplinary view of this social pathology. Domestic violence is one of the manifestations of gender violence, a reality that affects the physical, emotional and sexual integrity of women, being a public health problem and an attack against human rights. Among the main findings, it stands out that conjugal violence is exercised by the man towards the woman, as part of a patriarchal logic that is immersed within society, negatively affecting the development of women. Given this reality, marital dissolution can be seen as an alternative, as a conquest obtained by feminist struggles and gender studies, which see in it an opportunity to dignify the condition of women and live a life free of violence. However, despite progress in this area, inequalities and violence are still present, exposing women to another series of difficulties and risks. Finally, we conclude on the need to denounce the patterns that give continuity to gender violence and the patriarchal vision of society, promoting equitable relationships, strengthening gender policies and inclusive education, through holistic and collaborative approaches, leading to social change and the creation of fair and balanced societies.
