Resumen
The aim of this study was to evaluate the case history of transmissible venereal tumour (TVT) in the Animal Pathology Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (Lima, Peru) in the period 2016-2019, as well as its association with the age, sex, breed of the animal and the location of the tumour. A frequency of 4.98% (108/2171) was found in relation to the total number of diagnosed neoplasms. Males were more affected than females; likewise, dogs in the 1-5 years age group were the most affected (p<0.05). Females were more affected by the appearance of genital tumours, while males were more susceptible to extragenital and simultaneous tumours (both genital and extragenital) (p<0.05). Finally, crossbred dogs were more affected than purebred dogs (p<0.05). ©Los autores.
