Resumen
Objective: to evaluate the fracture resistance of endodontically treated teeth with internal root resorption and filled with three different types of sealants. Methods: the sample consisted of 60 single-rooted mandibular premolars donated by two specialists. The teeth were selected using non-probability convenience sampling and randomly distributed into six experimental groups (n=10 per group): Group A: Biodentine + Biodentine; Group B: Biodentine + gutta-percha + Neo Sealer; Group C: Neo Putty + Neo Putty; Group D: Neo Putty + gutta-percha + Neo Sealer; Positive control group; and Negative control group. Results: the average fracture resistance was 543.92 N in the positive control group and 616.48 N in the negative control group. In the experimental groups, the median fracture strength was 432.75 N for group D, 407.51 N for group B, 360.88 N for group C, and 340.09 N for group A. A statistically significant difference was observed between the experimental and control groups, with the latter having the highest mean fracture resistance (p=0.002; p < 0.05). Conclusions: endodontically treated teeth with internal root resorption restored with Neo Putty + gutta-percha + Neo Sealer exhibited the highest fracture resistance among the experimental groups, with a mean of 30.70 N, indicating more favorable mechanical behavior compared to the other combinations evaluated.
