Resumen

The aim of this article is to identify the first views published by the Castilian chroniclers and clergymen on the Andean architectural and ethnographic landscape. These first glances described routes established and known by the first conquerors that achieved sufficient fame to become famous and visited places by diverse reasons to which they gave foreign meanings. Of equal way they described the pre-Columbian customs and technologies. Those experiences were written into chronics, in which there are "archaeological and anthropological" references of pre-Columbian cultures of the Andean-highland area. In this context, some chronicles believed to identify remnants of past evangelizations that agreed with the fathers of the Church, St. Augustine and St. Thomas, that the spread of the Word would have been universal.
