Feed cost reduction in layer hens with rice by-products using exogenous enzymes

Yoplac-Collantes C.; Leiva-Villanueva Y.D.; Zamora-Huamán S.J. · Revista Cientifica de la Facultad de Veterinaria (2022) · DOI: 10.52973/rcfcv-e32100

Resumen

In the present research was evaluated the effect of replacement the diet of Lohmann Brown - Classic laying hens with different levels of rice bran (RB) and broken rice (BR): Control diet (CD, based on corn and soy), Treatment 1 (T1) (50 grams (g) / kilograms (kg) RB and 150 g·kg-1 BR), Treatment 2 (T2) (50 g·kg-1 RB and 300 g·kg-1 BR), Treatment 3 (T3) (100 g·kg-1 RB and 150 g·kg-1 BR), Treatment 4 (T4) (100 g·kg-1 RB and 300 g·kg-1 BR) with the use of exogenous enzymes in the productive parameters, egg quality and economic evaluation. The use of RB + BR significantly increased (P<0.05) the consumption of feed, laying and egg mass, however, the yolk color was reduced with the use of RB and BR. The economic evaluation showed that in T4 (10 % RB + 30 % BR) the average cost per kg of egg was reduced, although with higher feed consumption, a lower average cost per feed was achieved and therefore a higher gross margin average with 33.55 % in T4 compared to CD. It can be concluded that the use of rice by-products (RB + BR) with the use of exogenous enzymes, improve the productive and economic indices in laying hens diets. © (2022). All Rights Reserved.
