Resumen
The general objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between family functioning and behavioral development in students from 1st to 4th grade of secondary school in an educational institution in Comas. A non-experimental research design with a descriptive-correlational approach was used. The study population consisted of 266 students, with a randomly selected sample of 102 participants. Two questionnaires were used: the FACES III to assess family functioning and a customized questionnaire to assess behavioral development. The results indicated a significant correlation between family functioning and behavioral development, supporting the alternative hypothesis. The findings of the study suggest that a stable and supportive family environment can have a positive impact on students’ behavioral development. Although the study has limitations, such as the sample size and lack of a longitudinal approach, the findings are robust enough to inform future research and educational practices.
