Resumen

The present research aims to establish the relationship between the variables of investigative competencies in their execution phase and management skills in engineering students at the end of their professional training. A questionnaire of investigative competencies with seven dimensions and another with nine was used. In dimensions for management skills, the results determine that 83% are at a high level of investigative skills and 91.9% are at a high level of management skills using Minitab 19 software. On average, the results of management skills are slightly higher regarding investigative competencies. There are internal relationships between the dimensions of both variables; there is a positive relationship of 0.58 between the variables studied. The investigative competencies are related to empowerment, GCH, teamwork, and leadership, since as long as these are developed in harmony, coordination, effective communication, and commitment, the investigative competencies will achieve the objective of their final product, which is the report with new contributions. Feasible and profitable, the investigative skills are also related to negotiation, strategic action, and decision-making regarding the plan or proposal that the engineering thesis report must have used with the necessary tools.
