Resumen
Using a neonatal incubator analyzer that meets the requirements of IEC-60601-2-19 and IEC-60601-2-20 standards, a thermal evaluation has been performed on seven neonatal incubators used regularly at the neonatology service of Hospital Regional Cusco in Peru. The sample was made by availability of incubators after being used on patients. The tests were performed at 32°C of programmed temperature, and the results were: Six out of seven incubators (85.71%) met the error requirement of being less than +/- 1°C with an average and standard deviation of - 0.33465 °C/0.2467 °C. The incubator that did not meet this requirement had an error of -1.83 °C. For the temperature stability, all incubators met the standard of being less than +/-1°C with an average and standard deviation of 0.3868 °C/ 0.3024 °C. Temperature uniformity was met by all incubators with a uniformity error mean and standard deviation of 0.90 °C/ 0.3063 °C. The temperature error results are consistent with a previous and larger study in Bosnia and Herzegovina (2017). Also, all errors are negative indicating a slight tendency to hipothermia rather than hyperthermia.
