Resumen
The objective is the experimental implementation of the Design of Experiments (DoE) subject as a viable alternative to motivate students and contribute to improving the quality of teaching. The steps of the scientific method were included in a rigorous way. The study was performed with students who enrolled in the Course DoE in the academic semesters between 2019-1 and 2021-2, whether in the presential or virtual modality for the formation of the Industrial Engineer, in the Faculty of Engineering of the Ricardo Palma University (URP), in Lima, Peru. The analysis of the ranking of Peruvian universities that make use of the DoE in their curricular structure was also used in order to learn about the application of the DoE in the university environment. The results of the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the Post Hoc analysis (Tukey) indicate that there are significant differences between the form of formative evaluation in theory-problems and the evaluation in problem solving supported in the experimental field, allowing them to progress in their abilities and skills, as well as to overcome their limitations and obtain a better understanding when applying the DoE statistical tool to obtain success in the industry within the professional field. Therefore, this article shows the didactic importance of the DoE subject at the undergraduate level, aiming to encourage other universities to include it in the curriculum and thereby introduce it into the scope of experimental training for the industrial engineer.
