Expediting model for supplier purchase orders

Ivan Gustavo Q.A.; Eleodoro Fidel R.B.; María Rosa M.S. · Proceedings of the LACCEI international Multi-conference for Engineering, Education and Technology (2025) · DOI: 10.18687/laccei2025.1.1.892

Resumen

The research evaluates the behavior of an expediting model that is currently being implemented in the mining supply chain (SCM) in Peru, with the objective of validating that the proposed methodology and expediting model allow for an increase in on-time and in-full (OTIF) deliveries from suppliers. The expediting model is structured in 6 stages, from the planning of order tracking to the achievement of OTIF. The study has a quantitative approach, is applied in type, and follows a pre-experimental, correlational, and explanatory design. The population coincides with the sample, which includes 24 months (2023–2024) of historical data from expediting categories. The technique used was documentary review, using a structured guide as an instrument to collect, analyze, and process reliable data from the model. The multiple linear regression method was used, exploring cause-effect relationships between the predictor variables and the response variable, using the SPSS statistical software. The result shows a significant relationship between the predictor variables and OTIF, with an adjusted R2 coefficient of 0.96, indicating that the model explains 96% of the variability of OTIF. In addition, the ANOVA analysis and the individual significance tests of the coefficients confirm that all predictor variables have a statistically significant impact on OTIF (p<0.05). Likewise, the model does not present autocorrelation in the residuals (Durbin-Watson = 2.414) and shows a very low standard error of the estimate (0.02909), ensuring accuracy in the precision of the model.
