Resumen
The textile industry continually faces challenges in terms of productivity and operational efficiency. This research aimed to evaluate the application of Lean Manufacturing methodologies in textile companies, focusing on the tools used and the results obtained. A systematic review (without meta-analysis) was conducted based on sixteen studies selected through inclusion and exclusion criteria, using academic databases such as Scopus and SciELO. The most frequently implemented Lean tools were 5S, work standardization, value stream mapping (VSM), SMED, Kanban, and Poka-Yoke. These were primarily applied in areas such as garment production, cutting, logistics, finishing, and quality control. The analyzed studies demonstrated significant improvements in operational indicators, including a productivity increase of up to 234% after Lean adoption. Reductions of up to 70% in standard production times and time-use efficiencies exceeding 96% were also observed. Organizations that adopted these tools optimized their processes, minimized errors, and improved final product quality. However, obstacles such as limited technical training, labor informality, and resistance to change were identified as factors limiting Lean’s effectiveness. Despite these barriers, the findings suggest that Lean Manufacturing can enhance the competitiveness of the textile sector if properly adapted to the operational environment and supported by strong organizational leadership. This review provides a valuable foundation for professionals and researchers interested in improving operational efficiency in the textile industry through Lean tools. © LEIRD 2025.All rights reserved.
