Resumen
This study evaluates the fundamental soil period (T₀) in the city of Trujillo, Peru, through a comparison between accelerographic records and microtremor measurements (HVSR). A total of 549 seismic records from the period 2017–2025 were analyzed, obtained from the SENCICO (National Training Service for the Construction Industry), CIP (Peruvian Engineers Association), UPAO (Antenor Orrego Private University), UNT (National University of Trujillo), and IGP (Geophysical Institute of Peru) stat ions. The records were processed using baseline correction and filtering techniques, selecting events based on peak ground acceleration (PGA). The results show a variable agreement between both methods, with periods derived from accelerograms generally equal to or greater than those obtained from microtremor analysis. Fundamental period values ranging from 0.10 s to 0.48 s were identified, reflecting variability in soil conditions and potential amplification effects. This comparison allows for the validation and updating of the seismic characterization of Trujillo, whose latest reference dates back to approximately 2018, providing relevant information for ear thquake-resistant design.
