Resumen

Objectives: the inaccurate technical and dosimetric parameters considered in computed tomography (CT) have generated a non-compliance in the dose reference levels (NRD) so it is important to evaluate the CTDIvol and DLP dosimetric descriptors of CT in the cranial, thoracic and abdominal areas in adult and pediatric patients and contribute to the current NRDs. Method: a quantitative, observational and analytical approach study was applied. The CTDIvol and DLP parameters obtained by the DICOM program of the PACS system of the CT03S equipment of the Canon Medical Systems CT were analyzed. Results: in adults, CTDIvol and PLD values exceeded the reference CT values in the lead by 47,92 % and 90,07 %. In thoracic CT, the CTDIvol was 18.02% lower than its reference value, while the DLP exceeded its similar value by 19,46%. In abdominal CT, the CTDIvol exceeded the reference value by 111,55%; while the DLP obtained a lower value by 9,66%. In minors, the values of CTDIvol in thoracic and abdominal CT and PLD in abdominal CT showed to be within the reference values, the PLD in the thoracic region obtained a value higher in 99,21 % compared to the reference. In TC in the lead, CTDIvol and DLP registered 96,12% and 207,76% above the average. Conclusions: The CTDIvol and PLD values did not meet the reference levels, showing a discordance in the delivery of the nominal dose and the dose received by the patients.
