Cárdenas Morán A.; Calderon Velasco B.A.; Albújar Verona C.E.; Cardozo Ingrid Isabel M. · Proceedings of the LACCEI international Multi-conference for Engineering, Education and Technology (2024) · DOI: 10.18687/laccei2024.1.1.503

Resumen

The existence of occupational accidents in all countries, encompasses a great problem and causes innumerable damages to the workers, the same that can originate from a slight injury to death. Internationally, more than 317 million people are victims of occupational accidents. In this sense, accidents that occur in companies, industries and organizations due to mechanical risk factors are usually related to the type of machinery or equipment used in the workplace. Due to this problem, the objective of this research is to evaluate the level of mechanical risks in the production area of a polypropylene sack manufacturing company, based on a mixed research approach with a descriptive scope and non-experimental design, with a sample of 120 workers. The William Fine methodologies and the IPERC Matrix were applied, obtaining critical and important risk levels. The risks of entrapment and crushing were identified as the most important mechanical risks.
