Resumen
This study evaluates the potential of Lemna Gibba as a natural biomaterial for attenuating ultra-high-frequency (UHF) electromagnetic fields for frequencies: 700, 900, 1800, and 2400 MHz. The experimental measurements were carried out in the telecommunications laboratory of the electronic engineering program using vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers. Biomass samples of 2-3 mm thickness was tested with 30 replicates per frequency. The maximum attenuation observed was 13.0 dB at 2400 MHz, with a positive correlation between relative humidity and dielectric absorption (r = 0.72,R2 = 0.97). These results suggest that aquatic biomass can contribute to electromagnetic pollution mitigation, though further experimental validation and variability analysis are required to consolidate its application in green telecommunications.
