Resumen
The growth of the construction industry has led to the development of new methodologies to improve productivity through project management. Over the years, construction companies seeking to be competitive have mitigated project variability by adopting best practices. For this reason, a collaborative management method is being evaluated to decrease internal variability in construction projects. Based on a literature review, a preliminary four-stage method is proposed to establish a flowchart that allows for reducing internal variability by adopting collaborative management tools. This preliminary method is evaluated by experts to verify the reliability and validity of the questions. Additionally, a focus group is developed to establish improvements in the management tools used in each stage of the method. After evaluating and filtering the preliminary method by professionals with knowledge in project management, the final version of the collaborative management method is obtained with modifications proposed by experts in the field. Finally, the results indicate that the final method is reliable for reducing internal variability in construction projects through the processes described in the flowchart backed by collaborative management tools.
