Resumen

The general objective of the research is to estimate the seismic behavior through the static nonlinear analysis of an 8-level structure.Additionally, the research type will be applied, and its design will be non-experimental of a descriptive nature, in which we will purpose a multi-family housing located in Mz.2, Lot 19, Jerusalén Sector, District of la Esperanza, Province of Trujillo, la Libertad. The structure was divided into two modules, revealing that the point of maximum performance is in life safety for a seismic event with a return period of 72 years in the X-axis direction and functional for events with return periods of 450 and 975 years in the Y-axis direction. Both modules were found to be in a state of collapse in both analysis directions for the latter return periods. It was also determined that modules 1 and 2 could not exceed a resistance of 656.3224 tonf in the demand capacity curve in the X-axis direction, nor 1023.7692 tonf in the Y-axis direction. This is where the highest concentration of internal forces in the structural elements occurs, leading to a greater development of plastic hinges in beams, in accordance with the ACE 41-13 and FEMA 440 philosophy.
