Ergonomics to reduce dysergonomic risks in the transportation sector: A systematic review

Jeremy Xavier R.G.; Caleb Miguel A.R.; Miñan Olivos G.S. · Proceedings of the LACCEI international Multi-conference for Engineering, Education and Technology (2024) · DOI: 10.18687/leird2024.1.1.577

Resumen

This article presents a systematic review regarding ergonomics and its application for reducing disergonomic risks in companies within the transportation sector. The methodology was carried out using the PRISMA method. For the bibliographic search, the following databases were used: Scopus, Redalyc, Scielo, IEEE, Google Scholar, among others. The following keywords were used in Spanish: “Ergonomics'', “Health”, “Work Safety”, “Transportation”, “Transportation Sector”, “REBA”, “RULA”, “Driver” and “Chauffeur”. The search topic included variables such as title, year of publication, type of publication, etc. The results obtained included journals and articles with a certain degree of international renown. After selecting the articles and research and conducting a bibliometric analysis, it was demonstrated that between 2012 and 2024, the number of studies and the importance of disergonomic risks for workers increased, negatively affecting the productivity of companies. 72% of the studies were published in Spanish, 17% in Portuguese, and 11% in English. Similarly, Spain is the country with the most published studies, with a percentage of 28%. Additionally, various ergonomic tools were identified, such as surveys, the REBA method, and noise and vibration analyses to which drivers were subjected. Furthermore, the growth of new technologies in the study of ergonomics, such as the Yoshitake Test and the Self-Reporting Questionnaire, is mentioned. It is concluded that the implementation of ergonomic tools is crucial to reduce disergonomic risks and improve productivity in the transportation sector.
