Equality and dignity in minimum remuneration. International perspectives

Resumen
Minimum remuneration deeply affects equality and labor dignity at an international level, since between the minimum wage and the cost of living it reveals significant inequalities, while workers who receive the minimum wage often cannot satisfy their basic needs, which compromises their dignity and well-being. This situation reflects a lack of equity in the labor market, where low income limits access to a decent life. The International Labor Organization (ILO) promotes the idea that the minimum wage should be sufficient to cover essential needs and offer a decent life. The lack of adequate regulation exacerbates inequalities and negatively affects both the economy and social well being. Thus, the insufficiency of minimum remuneration calls into question equality and labor dignity, requiring a review of salary policies to ensure fair conditions, establishing a weighted distribution that adjusts minimum remuneration based on productivity levels. In this way, a fair balance between capital and labor is maintained.
