Environmental awareness and the conservation of green areas in the citizens of the district of San Juan de Lurigancho

Resumen

Our research aimed to determine if there is a relationship between environmental awareness and the conservation of green areas in the citizens of San Juan de Lurigancho in 2023. Through an exhaustive bibliographic review and analysis of collected data, we identified the factors that influence the environmental perception and behavior of the population. The importance of green areas is highlighted, as well as their essential role in preserving biodiversity and improving the urban environment. The research reveals patterns of environmental awareness in the community, highlighting areas of opportunity to strengthen the emotional connection with the natural environment. The research approach was basic with an inductive-deductive study method, the design was non-experimental of a relational type, the sample was made up of 384 people from the District of San Juan de Lurigancho. The survey methodology was used, using questionnaires as data collection instruments aimed at the residents of the district. In order to guarantee the validity of the instruments used in the research, expert judgment was used. Likewise, the reliability of each instrument was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The results revealed significant values of.734 and.835, evidencing the consistency and reliability of said instruments. The relationship between environmental awareness and the preservation of green areas in the citizens of the San Juan de Lurigancho district was evident with a Rho Spearman coefficient of 0.855 indicating a high significant relationship.
