Resumen

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the interconnections and analyze the main dimensions of emotional dependence and family functioning in psychology students in the post-pandemic era. A sample of 580 undergraduate psychology students from a public university in Lima, Peru, were administered the Emotional Dependence Scale (ACCA) and the Family Functioning Scale (FF-SIL). The results indicated that there was an inverse and low relationship in the following pairs: attachment to insecurity and family cohesion (r=-0.113), attachment to loneliness and family roles (r=-0.074), and idealization of the partner and family affectivity (r=-0.101). 101); likewise, it was shown that partner idealization (BS=0.20) and fear of loneliness (BS=0.07) were more important in the emotional dependency network while roles (BS=0.17) and cohesion (BS=0.11) were more relevant in the family functionality variable. It was concluded that there was an inverse and low relationship between the dimensions of emotional dependence and family functioning, with idealization of the partner and fear of loneliness as central aspects, and roles and family cohesion as central mechanisms of change.
