Resumen
Responsible consumption is an essential component in advancing environmental, social, and ethical sustainability. It entails critically assessing the impacts that products and services generate on the environment and society, as well as integrating ethical principles into consumer decision-making. This study analyzes the level of socially responsible consumption in the Puno region of Peru, based on three key dimensions: ethical, social, and ecological. Using a quantitative approach with a non-experimental descriptive design, a structured survey was administered to 384 residents during 2023. The results reveal a predominantly moderate level of responsible consumption across all dimensions, with statistically significant evidence (p < 0.001). The ethical dimension indicates a partial internalization of moral values, while the social and ecological dimensions reflect growing awareness, although constrained by structural factors such as access, cost, and education. It is concluded that the population is undergoing a transitional phase toward more sustainable behaviors. The study highlights the need to strengthen education in responsible consumption, ensure transparency in product information, and promote community participation to facilitate sustainable changes in consumer habits.
