Resumen
The use of digital surveys increased significantly during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic lockdown, facilitating data collection in scientific research. However, the inclusion of a larger number of questions has extended response time without considering its impact on data quality. This study examines the relationship between response time and data quality in online surveys applied to leadership research. Using a non-experimental quantitative design, a sample of 224 participants completed an adapted MLQ questionnaire with 32 items. Multiple linear regression, controlling for gender and age, revealed a positive relationship between response time and data quality, although this trend reverses when the response time exceeds 20 minutes. Additionally, age and gender significantly influence the analyzed relationship. The study concludes that longer response times improve data quality in short surveys, suggesting the need for further research on this effect in more extensive questionnaires.
