Resumen
Background: attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a mental condition that encompasses a compendium of persistent difficulties, such as difficulty concentrating, hyperactivity, and impulsive behavior, which is why musical activities are currently used to address it. Methods: this study is based on a systematic review to analyze the effects of music in the management of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents. The exploration was supported by Boolean operators in ERIC, Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases, considering academic articles and technical documents endorsed by specialists, published between 2014 and 2024 in English and Spanish. Results: starting from 756 articles initially collected. In the initial review, selection criteria were applied, which allowed 24 documents to be specified for the final analysis; Conclusions: among the main effects of music on ADHD, it can be treated as a non-pharmacological therapy that improves the level of concentration, raises self-esteem, intervenes in the progressive development of social skills, and promotes control of hyperactivity and directs people towards reducing anxiety states.
