Resumen
Introduction: The direct and positive impact on holistic growth during a critical stage of human development stems from motor development in early childhood. Optimal intervention is essential for locomotive development, highlighting the need of managing effective strategies. Objective: To evaluate a program of ludic strategies aimed at improving motor skills in students at the elementary sublevel. Methods: A sufficient sample of children aged 6-7 was studied, divided into two independent groups: one experimental (n=46), which underwent an intervention program involving various ludic activities aimed at integral motor potentiation, including locomotive, manipulative, balance, and perceptual-motor dimensions. The control group (n=46) received no intervention. Intragroup and intergroup results were compared. Results: Both independent groups showed homogeneity at the pretest stage (p=0.919). Intragroup analysis revealed that only the experimental group achieved significant improvements in overall motor skills (p=0.000), and intergroup comparison indicated notable improvements in the experimental group compared to the control group (p=0.000). Conclusions: Significant progress was showed in the experimental group following the intervention, whereas the control group showed no meaningful changes and even regressions in some cases. It is concluded that systematically implemented ludic strategies, with a didactic intervention approach, produce substantial improvements in children's motor skills, supporting their use as an effective tool in the teaching and improvement of comprehensive motor skills processes. © Los artículos de Revista Médica Electrónica de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Matanzas se comparten bajo los términos de la Licencia Creative Commons Atribución-NoComercial 4.0.
