Resumen

The study aimed to evaluate the effect of three concentrations of Spirulina platensis in the culture medium on the crude protein content and massing of Panagrellus redivivus to increase its value as a high-quality live feed for aquaculture applications. Micro worms were cultured in enriched oats for 21 days. The experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design with four treatments (0, 5, 10, and 15% Spirulina in oats) in triplicate. Crude protein content was determined, and worm counts were performed every seven days to record massing. Daily pH and temperature were also monitored. The greatest micro worm massing occurred during the second week, primarily in the 10% Spirulina treatment (T2), with 92 200 micro worms/g. T2 also yielded the highest percentage of assimilated protein (22.36%), compared to the control treatment (14.2%). The findings showed that the inclusion of S. platensis in the culture medium significantly improves the amount of P. redivivus massing and protein content. ©Los autores.
