Resumen
Pantanos de Villa (RVSLPV) is the only coastal wetland located within the urban area of Lima that is recognized as a Ramsar site. Little is known about the diversity of macroinvertebrates that inhabit the area and what environmental factors influence them. The objective of this study was to determine the composition of the community of aquatic beetles and evaluate their relationships with the physicochemical variables of the water. For this, 12 sampling stations were established in six lagoons of Pantanos de Villa and there were evaluated in situ: dissolved oxygen (DO), electrical conductivity (EC), water temperature (T), hydrogen potential (pH), and turbidity (Turb). 1475 aquatic beetles grouped into three families and 13 species were identified, reporting two new records for Peru: Desmopachria challeti K. B. Miller (Dytiscidae) and Hydraena quechua Perkins (Hydraenidae). Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Canonical Correspondence (CCA) show that the physicochemical variables with the greatest influence were CE, pH, and turbidity. In this sense, Hydrophilidae species were associated with a high tolerance to CE. On the contrary, related to values lower than the average of T, CE, Turb, OD, and with slightly high alkalinity, we found the species of Dytiscidae and Hydraenidae (except G. peruvianus); they would require other conditions, probably related to the size and depth of the lagoons, as well as the floristic diversity.
