Resumen
This study evaluates the impact of integrating educational technology on the development of technical competencies among students enrolled in the Industrial Process Automation course. A pre-experimental design with pretest and posttest was employed, using a robotic arm within a CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) cell as a pedagogical tool. The sample was census-based, comprising 21 students from a public university in Peru. The assessment instrument was structured around four dimensions: automation and control methods, automatic regulation, robotic systems, and automation system design. The results showed a 61.4% increase in the overall score, indicating significant improvements across all evaluated dimensions. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of applied technologies in the technical training of industrial engineering students, fostering meaningful learning aligned with the demands of Industry 4.0.
