Educational quality: a review of the literature based on an ergonomic design analysing service agents

Resumen

The concept of educational quality has been widely studied, although it is often misunderstood by teachers due to changes in the school system and the demands of the diversified curriculum. Specifically, we proposed an ergonomic model to understand the interrelations between the community and the school, considering service agents. The aim was to understand the current literature on educational quality in schools and their social functionality. The comprehension approach involved a PRISMA model review, initially selecting a total of 267 manuscripts published in the databases Scopus, ScienceDirect, and SciELO (from the years 2017–2022). A total of 78 documents were obtained in the filtering stage, which met the inclusion criteria. The results reported a greater number of manuscripts derived from the ScienceDirect database in English. The analysis allowed us to conceptualise school educational quality as the set of components used for the service and development of the student supported by the accompaniment of their parents. The authors of the analysed papers mostly opted for a quantitative approach to researching educational quality. Thematic categorisation made it possible to establish five factorial models by classifying two types of literature: Latin American and non-Latin American.
