Resumen
The cultivation of oregano (Origanum vulgare L.) is the most important economic activity in inter-Andean areas, due to characteristics of a natural order, which, in productive terms, translates into a comparative advantage to develop this crop; however, global phenomena such as climate change, translated into a process of soil degradation, alteration of the hydrological cycle, etc. It is observed that it has been impacting on the productive systems, those that demand greater investment to achieve the harvests. In this context, it was necessary to develop this research to determine the costs incurred, the production obtained and the economic results in terms of profitability (%). To achieve this purpose, a comparison of oregano production and cost averages was developed in the Locumba, Sama and Caplina basins. The results conclude that the direct production costs per hectare in the Locumba (12603), Sama (13748) basin are higher and statistically similar, with respect to the Caplina basin (8 125), with a significance level of = 0,05. Regarding production (kg / ha), the Locumba basin has a higher yield with 3 630 kg/ha, compared to the Sama basin (1841 kg / ha) and Caplina (1883 kg / ha), consequently, these last two are statistically similar with significance of = 0.05. In terms of profitability, the Locumba basin contains the towns with the highest profitability: Ilabaya (ROI = 94%) and Huanuara (ROI = 78%), with respect to the Sama and Caplina basins.
