Resumen
The main objective was to identify the significant differences in the presence of early maladaptive schemas (EMSs) among a sample of university students of psychology and engineering degrees from universities in Metropolitan Lima. The study is a descriptive-comparative, non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 203 psychology and engineering students from universities in Lima, selected under a non-probabilistic purposive sampling. The instruments used were: sociodemographic survey and the Early Maladaptive Schema Questionnaire (YSQ - S3). The results show that there are significant differences in the 18 EMTs between the group of psychology and engineering students. Finally, this study will serve as a baseline for future research to compare TMEs in two or more independent populations and will also be useful for the creation and implementation of prevention, promotion, and intervention programs.
