Resumen

Improved automatic packing systems are needed that can adapt to product sizes to provide more personalized packaging and use shipping resources better. Planning, building, and testing an automated system that changes sizes based on dimensions is covered in this chapter. This system automatically adjusts package sizes to match item sizes, making it the optimal way to use packing resources. New size-measuring technology includes laser scanners and high-resolution cameras. Flexible robotic arms and lifts help pack shipments swiftly and precisely. The suggested system architecture includes real-time size measurement hardware and flexible packaging equipment. In addition, its powerful software uses dimension data and control methods to immediately modify packing size. Dimensions are measured using modern sensor fusion and data processing technologies for accuracy and reliability. This means the machine can manage several product forms and sizes without much human assistance. A unique adaptive control approach adjusts packing machine parameters based on real-time readings. This makes sizing easier and saves material. Even if the product or environment changes, the system’s real-time monitoring and adjustment keep it accurate. We built and tested a system sample to confirm the theory. Compared to predetermined measurement systems, performance studies show that packing is more accurate, with fewer size errors and greater resource savings.
