Digitized proceduce to reduce the time for collecting productivity data in the structural hull and finishing stages in multifamily homes

Tarazona Gomero G.; Huamán Crisostomo C.; Ulloa Román K. · Proceedings of the LACCEI international Multi-conference for Engineering, Education and Technology (2025) · DOI: 10.18687/laccei2025.1.1.1489

Resumen

Productivity is one of the most important challenges facing the construction industry, as its deficiency generates cost and time overruns in projects. Furthermore, the lack of adoption of new technologies and the scarce investment in digitalization cause problems in the collection of productivity data in the field, such as loss of information, interpretation errors, and lack of accurate data, making it difficult to identify areas for performance improvement. In this context, this article focuses on the digitalization of the labor productivity data collection process during the structural shell and finishing stages of multifamily housing projects, using the Raken digital tool. The methodology employed included: (A) bibliographic analysis and expert surveys regarding the problem, (B) diagnosis of the current situation of productivity data collection on site, (C) development of a procedure to reduce data collection time, and (D) implementation of the proposed procedure. Finally, the result was a 64.40% reduction in data collection time for the structural hull stage and a 60.56% reduction in the finishing stage, using HH time as a metric. It is concluded that, through the use of the digital tool, it is possible to reduce the time spent on data collection on site.
