Resumen
The adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) implies the integration of policies, resources, infrastructure, and the joint work of health professionals and information technology (IT) specialists. In Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), the centralization of health services, geographic dispersion, and social conditions, are aspects that contemplate attention of needs and priorities when identifying health digital services strategies, such as the adoption of EHRs. In the context of digital transformation (DX), this work proposes a set of critical success factors (CSFs), with support in guiding questions and metrics, which facilitate the identification of alternatives to reduce the gaps in the adoption of EHRs. The CSFs can facilitate the planning of projects for the implementation of EHRs, based on the DX-involved strengths. Finally, opportunities to evaluate and apply the CSFs, in the Cusco regional health network context, are set out.
