Digital Resources for the Development of Communication Skills in Students with ASD - Lima, Peru

Soto-Enciso R.R.; Turriate-Guzman A.M. · Proceedings of the 2025 IEEE 5th International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies on Education and Research, ICALTER 2025 (2025) · DOI: 10.1109/icalter69698.2025.11355036

Resumen

The study is based on the question: What is the perception of teachers and parents about the use of digital resources for the development of communication skills in the students of a CEBE in Metropolitan Lima, during 2023? It was developed under a descriptive, non-experimental, basic and cross-sectional quantitative approach. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire, adapted from a scientific article. The teaching team and parents were surveyed voluntarily. The results show different percentages in each of the items evaluated. Among the main conclusions, it can be pointed out that the perception of teachers and parents about the use of digital resources for the development of communication skills shows a discrepancy in 8 of the 15 items evaluated. With respect to the development of the ability to initiate or sustain a conversation, parents perceive that their children have not developed the skill. However, the teachers point out that it is. In relation to the ability to express a desire or needs, there is a slight coincidence between parents and teachers, since they perceive that their children do manage to express their ideas or needs after using digital resources. Due to the discrepancy detected, it is suggested that the following studies analyze the expectations of parents, their level of involvement in educational activities and their level of knowledge about the achievements established in Special Basic Education.
