Resumen

This study responds to the need to understand how multimodal pedagogical practices can promote sociolinguistic justice in a context of high linguistic inequality in Peru, which threatens the disappearance of 21 Peruvian languages. The objective is to analyze the representations and emotions of students at a private university regarding an experience of digital activism based on critical digital literacy and sociolinguistic awareness. A qualitative descriptive-interpretive methodology was used, with data collected in 2022 through an asynchronous questionnaire administered to 37 students, whose responses were analyzed using critical discourse analysis techniques. The findings show three main trends: The development of sociolinguistic awareness of discrimination and linguistic diversity; recognition of the transformative potential of digital discourse for social awareness; and the reconfiguration of learning through active and multimodal methodologies, perceived as more formative alternatives than traditional assessments. In conclusion, it is evident that student digital activism can be an effective pedagogical practice for promoting critical reflection and revaluation of indigenous languages in higher education in the Global South. © Los autores.
