Development of synthetic FZI curves through petrophysical characterization from Open Hole logs, CMR and Core Analysis

Huerta Quiñones V.; Sinchitullo J.; Morán Quiliano A.M.; Cahuas Soto C.J. · Proceedings of the LACCEI international Multi-conference for Engineering, Education and Technology (2024) · DOI: 10.18687/laccei2024.1.1.1211

Resumen

Lot 192 is one of the most important oil lots in Peru, not only because of its oil production, but because of the properties, characteristics and challenges that it represents for the Peruvian industry. The present study carries out a characterization of the Vivian formation, the one with the highest production in this basin, through a petrophysical study in the Carmen field, which is part of Lot 192. The methodology is based on interpreting the results of the analyzes of conventional and special cores. obtained from wells in the Carmen field through the analysis of the Flow Zone Indicator (FZI), Rock Quality Index (RQI) and the Leverett J function with which the Hydraulic Flow Units (HFU) of the Vivian reservoir were identified. The results obtained were supported with the classification of pore families through the interpretation of Magnetic Resonance (CMR) records, obtaining a petrophysical characterization of the Vivian reservoir in the Carmen field. Finally, an FZI correlation was developed for the southern area of the Carmen field, based on the Open Hole logs taken in the reference wells. This interpretation was extended to neighboring wells, resulting in synthetic curves of representative FZI in each well for the Vivian formation.
