Development Framework to Evaluate the Process of Training Researchers in Universities

Resumen

The objective of this proposal is to provide a framework that allows evaluating the process followed by universities in the training of researchers. The developed framework will make it possible to recognize the gaps to be covered, thereby improving the level of training of researchers, in turn increasing the volume and quality of scientific production generated in these institutions. The proposal was developed from a broad review of the existing literature, which shows empirical evidence regarding the gaps and difficulties that researchers face in their development process. The result obtained will guide teaching institutions to design curricular plans that include elements of the developed framework, teachers to train research in the teaching-learning methodology used, and researchers to recognize the gaps that have not yet been covered to improve their performance. Taking into account and implementing measures to cover the gaps observed in the designed framework will generate a gradual and sustainable development of scientific production. Furthermore, this structure can be used by universities as a tool to build a roadmap, with comprehensive strategies that can overcome recognized deficiencies. It was concluded that the framework must contemplate 3 fundamental areas, which are closely linked. One area that involves the institutional aspect, another that considers the teaching-learning process of the research methodology and another area referring to the individual characteristics that must be achieved in the researcher to obtain optimal results
