Determining the relationship between player experience and purchase intention in online communities of Peruvian players, Trujillo-Peru

Juan Alexis L.C.; Ronald G.P.; Felfe Igor C.-L. · Proceedings of the LACCEI international Multi-conference for Engineering, Education and Technology (2023) · DOI: 10.18687/leird2023.1.1.294

Resumen

This research sought to determine the significance level of the relationship between player experience and purchase intention. This was done in order to verify the theories and results of previous research that affirm the existence of such a relationship. The player experience variable was approached based on flow and social presence, both dimensions already defined; the purchase intention variable was approached based on perceived value and attitude, both dimensions also defined. Following a quantitative, relational, cross-sectional and non-experimental design, hypotheses were proposed regarding the relationship between the dimensions of both variables. These hypotheses were tested through statistical analysis. As a result of this analysis, the results were obtained and the general objective was achieved, thus, it was determined that there is a significant relationship between player experience and purchase intention. These results have been useful to propose theoretical, practical and methodological implications, taking into account the limitations. In addition, the results of this research were discussed with those of previously cited authors. Finally, new lines of research were proposed that will help to know what other factors are associated with purchase intention.
