Resumen

A software developed with the MATLAB programming language is presented to determine the storage capacity required for the designed vessel in different substrates of the Coata river basin, called Lagunillas and Verde reservoirs, which will allow increasing the permanent supply of water throughout the term one year in winter, especially during the dry months. The method used to calculate the useful volume of the containers was the "sequential peaks", so it is necessary to define the water supply at the points of interest and the demands that are expected to be met by embalming. The generation of flow in the field from where the nozzle of the container is located was carried out using the runoff model called the “soil moisture method” which is part of the Computerized Water Evaluation and Planning System (WEAP). The data from the Puente Maravillas hydrological station were used for the calibration and validation of the hydrological model. On the water demand side, the ecological flow and the needs for agricultural and population use are considered. As a result, it was obtained that the Verde reservoir required a useful volume of 111 hm3 (one hundred eleven million cubic meters), and by simulating the operation of the packaging it was found that this capacity allows a guarantee of supply of demand. of practically 100% (temporal and volumetric). It is concluded that the sequential peaks method allows defining quickly and shows the storage capacity for the Verde reservoir, a result that should be considered as the first approximation in the evaluation phase technical economics of the project. This software was designed to keep information organized and retrievable at any time, and to show a simulation of seasonal water demands during the year, contributing to the design elements of packaging projects. This program, with its functionality, is an important tool for decision-making in the management of water resources.
