Design of an improvement plan to reduce costs in the textile company "Multiconfecciones Guzmán"

Dominguez-Garcia B.; Guerrero-Cárdenas G.; Urrutia-Rodriguez A.; Geldres-Marchena T. · Proceedings of the LACCEI international Multi-conference for Engineering, Education and Technology (2023) · DOI: 10.18687/leird2023.1.1.144

Resumen

This research addresses multiple issues and proposes specific solutions in key areas of operations for the textile company Multiconfecciones Guzman EIRL. Through the application of ABC classification, operational costs related to excess stock in the warehouse were reduced by S/2, 400. Additionally, implementing the cellular manufacturing method resulted in a decrease of S/466.22 in operational costs caused by idle times due to transfers. Moreover, the autonomous maintenance approach reduced the resulting cost of downtime for repairs to S/1, 572.91. By using the REBA method, operational costs were reduced by S/385.92 due to production stoppages caused by poor posture. Furthermore, the Kaizen method allowed for cost reduction associated with S/4, 380.00 by addressing raw material waste. The effectiveness of these improvements was evaluated using the PROMODEL and MONTECARLO simulators, and the results demonstrated significant enhancements in reducing operational costs in all problematic areas. In summary, implementing the design of the improvement plan has led to substantial reductions in operational costs associated with various issues, emphasizing the importance of strategic and systematic approaches to enhance efficiency and cut costs in the textile company Multiconfecciones Guzman EIRL. instructions give the basic guidelines for preparing papers for the LEIRD conference proceedings adapted from the IEEE 2-Column format for conference proceedings.
