Design of an Adaptive Traffic Light System to Optimize Vehicular Delay at Intersection of Lima

Resumen

The study proposes an adaptative traffic light system at the intersection of Av. Faustino Sanchez Carrión and Av. General Salaverry to reduce traffic congestion through intelligent control of traffic light times. The simulation in PTV Vissim showed a 47% decrease in queue length and a 19% decrease in travel times, significantly improving traffic flow.
