Resumen
The objective of this research was to develop a mobile application to estimate the ultraviolet index values in real-time using a cellphone. For which an application is developed in Android Studio considering data obtained from the environment by the cellphone light sensor and adjustment equations between global solar radiation and ultraviolet index. The correlation and standard error statistics were considered for the validation of the measurements and a UV meter GD-UV06, to compare the measurements in real-time. Results were obtained for eight days during the year 2021, considering the four seasons of the year in the region of Puno. A data correlation of 0.99 was obtained between the data estimated by the cellphone with respect to the data measured by the UV meter GD-UV06 and a maximum average standard error of 0.521. Concluding that it is possible to estimate UV index values by using a cellphone and mobile App in real-time.
