Resumen
This paper proposes the design and development of a multifunctional modular habitat optimized for construction in lunar environments, specifically in the lunar region Marius Hills. The lunar region Marius Hills has been proposed for its geological advantages; the presence of lava tubes, which offer natural protection from radiation and micrometeorites; as well as the presence of valuable mineral resources. The design approach of this module is focused on being built using materials and lunar construction technologies proposed in previous research, seeking to reduce costs and construction times, while providing different perspectives to be considered in the design and integration of new technologies. The main focus of this study lies in the design of a module, which provides support and is easily adaptable to different functions and needs of future settlers, highlighting in this research, the importance of Marius Hills as a strategic site for lunar exploration and habitability. By focusing on this module design, we open the way to a prototype development, planned for the year 2026, and which can be given continuity of study in a challenging terrestrial environment, through the life cycle study of the product, as well as its sustainability. In addition, this proposal seeks to lay the foundations for the development of future analogous missions in the Hispanic American region, seeking greater access to space study, as well as preparation and training for future space exploration missions.
