Resumen
This paper examines digital activism in indigenous languages in Peru. Interviews with four activists were analyzed: two Ashaninka and two Quechua. The findings reveal that these activists are not only fluent in their languages, but they also possess a sociolinguistic awareness distinct from the essentialist ideologies of the past. Their approach is characterized by inclusivity and mutual respect between linguistic variants. Additionally, the activists demonstrate a strong commitment to the dissemination of their languages online. Thet invest significant time in preparing their content, despite not receiving financial incentives. The paper also identifies innovative initiatives among these activists that challenge conventional academic norms in language policy. The study concludes by emphasizing the power of digital activism in indigenous languages as an effective and legitimate medium of social activism, which not only plays a crucial role in mediating and amplifying political and social action but also serves a fundamental role in the dissemination and revitalization of languages. © Los autores.
