Resumen
In 2008, the foundations of a payment model based on the Bitcoin cryptocurrency were defined, using the blockchain platform as technological support. Its use expanded since 2015 with Ethereum, a version that allows creating smart contracts in code, which are executed when the conditions programmed in them are reached, generating state changes in the virtual assets stored in it. The ability to model in blockchain rules of enforced compliance by its members, allowed the creation of virtual organizations, known as Decentralized Autonomous Organizations, or DAOs. In these organizations, the interaction of individuals, collective decisions, incentive payoffs, and other governance activities are modeled algorithmically. This literature review seeks to identify frameworks for understanding what DAO governance practices relate to traditional organizations, and whether the latter could partially or fully evolve towards them.
