DEBOLIST POETICS IN THE SHORT NARRATIVE OF JULIO RAMÓN RIBEYRO

Aguilar R.A.E. · Metafora (2023) · DOI: 10.36286/mrlad.v3i6.161

Resumen

Studies on the work of Julio Ramón Ribeyro (1929-1994) are varied, as are the different ways of analyzing and interpreting the components of his fictional universe. However, many of these revolve around recurring topics such as failure, marginality, and skepticism. Therefore, the objective of this article is to offer a new theoretical-hermeneutic approach from the perspective of Gianni Vattimo’s weak thought, Richard. Rorty’s neopragmatism and Michel Foucault's microphysics of power. These epistemological proposals will serve as support to analyze some stories such as “La insignia”, “Doblaje”, “El banquete” and others. In this sense, the study will focus on debolist poetics, understood as a ductile, weak narrative program opposed to the strong and dogmatic reality prevailing in the 20th century. All this theoretical-analytical scaffolding allows us to assert that debolization cuts across his short narrative and is part of his literary aesthetic project.
